Reports of snow on all passes over southern Montana, so be careful out there today. Plenty of snow is expected, Winter Weather Advisories posted for Gallatin, Madison, Beaverhead Counties, above 5,500'. Below that maybe a couple of inches, but up to 8" or more in the mountains so be careful today and tomorrow.
Cooler temperatures remain as we see our first real shot of unseasonably cool conditions, for what it seems like the entire winter season. While no major storms are on the horizon, I'll keep my eye on mother nature, and my other eye on this blog to keep you up to date!

Snowpack back to normal?
Yes, according to my limited looking at data this morning, these recent small, but yet important snowstorms have put several river basins back in the "near normal" category in terms of the amount of snowpack in the mountains. A month ago, we were in the low to mid 70's percentage-wise compared to average. Now we are closer to that 80-85% mark. While we still aren't at normal yet, we are getting closer, and a few more storms, will help get us to a much better category when it comes to the discussion about the upcoming water conditions in the summer. While we still have a ways to go, I'll keep an eye on it, and let you know when we get there!

Not a bad Thursday ahead
Since I am working the morning show this morning, thought I would give you a nice weather update. Cool this morning (that is compared to yesterday) but not a bad afternoon under just a partly cloudy sky.
It will be chilly this afternoon, and a few flurries are still possible this morning. After that a dry day. The next few days remain unsettled...after a decent Friday in-between storms, snow showers return Saturday into Sunday with accumulating snow likely.
Cooler temperatures will remain as well, so consider this your "Jacket Warning" as you will want to have it over the next several days.

Winter Weather Returns!
Posted by the National Weather Service, more snow is on the way! Winter Storm Warnings issued for the mountains on Thursday. Valleys will see at least enough to make the roads slick, and force you to get out your snow scraper!
Think this is the end? Don't fret, we have more snow this weekend. As I have continued to keep an eye on things, it looks like this storm has the potential to give us a good dose of snow :)
The storm is still several days away, but mark your weekend with a snowflake, enough to make you get your snow shovels, or maybe even the snow blowers.
While I may not do the weather on the air during the week, I still keep an eye on things for ya!
